The Lounge
Our lovely lounge has seating for seven, soft squidgy sofas perfect for relaxing or napping in, and plenty of books and games for your enjoyment. There’s also a cosy wood burner for any chilly evenings; fluffy blankets, logs and kindling are supplied, all you need to bring are your slippers! There’s all the entertainment facilities you could possibly need, with Internet enabled TV, DVD Player and a wide selection of films, wireless speakers, Google Smart Speaker... and super-fast WIFI throughout the house.
The Kitchen & Dining
We have a very well-equipped kitchen, with farmhouse style dining table for eight people, and a large open fireplace with an Aga, that gently heats the room making it a cosy place to hang out for long lazy lunches or fun family meals. There are instructions in the kitchen for how to use the Aga if you’re not initiated – and suggestions for waffle and pancake making for indulgent breakfasts! The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, under-counter fridge, and Nespresso maker. There is a second fridge and freezer in the utility, along with washing machine and tumble drier. There is also a Weber BBQ in the courtyard garden which you are welcome to use.
The Bedrooms
We have taken the time to make sure all our bedrooms have comfortable beds and extra lovely bed linen to ensure you have a peaceful nights sleep. A fluffy hand and bath towel for each guest is provided, and additional beach towels are also available. Hairdryers are available in 3 of the 4 rooms.
The Master bedroom has a super-king bed, which can be arranged into two full sized single beds if required. It’s a spacious and light room, decorated in the palate of St Ives, and has views out over the front garden. When made into a super-king the bed has luxurious mattress topper for extra comfort.
The Double bedroom is a king-sized wrought iron bed, decorated in hues of blue. You might not hear the Atlantic from the bedroom, but you know it’s only a couple of minutes walk away.
The Single bedroom is standard sized, and people often comment that this is their favourite room. There’s something about the light and airy feel and the room’s views of the garden and up across to the hill and dairy farm on the other side of the village, that frame the serenity of this part of the world perfectly.
The Bunkbed room has two 6x3ft beds, so standard width and only 3 inches shorter than a standard single – suitable for adults and children alike. We provide games, toys and a selection of books that we hope will inspire a fun stay. Recalling stories of the Mermaid of Zennor or the Mousehole Cat are some of our favourite bedtime reads! A child stair-gate can be provided, and a travel cot too if required.
The Garden & Courtyard
Beautiful and private outside spaces surround Chy An Eglos, with a courtyard that wraps itself around the building and the tranquil garden at the front, you are always sure to find a quiet sunny spot.
The courtyard has two spaces for relaxing – the smaller of the two is perfect for that first cup of tea or coffee in the morning, quiet, secluded and a sun-trap perfect for reading the paper. The larger of the two has a garden dining table seating 8, it’s perfect for alfresco meals, BBQs, and/or sitting out and listening to the gentle sound of folk music from the Tinners Arms on a warm Thursday evening. The rear courtyards are enclosed with a gate – so suitable for keeping children or dogs contained.
The spacious front garden is well-planted and has views out to sea. There are benches and tables hidden in the corners of the garden, and squishy bean bags and picnic blankets provided for sun-bathing. The even better news is that even when the Pub is full, you can bring your Pint of Tinners or your glass of St Ives Gin, into the garden and watch the sunset (just remember to take your glasses back).
The Bathroom
Spacious family bathroom comprising of a bath with shower over, WC, sink & heated towel rail. Two fluffy towels are provided for each person, and beach towels are also available in the summer months.
The Utility Room & Beach Equipment
The house is well stocked with equipment for days at the beach, all we ask is that you return items to their storage space and leave them as clean and tidy as you found them so that future guests are able to enjoy also.
For your Beach comfort, we have:

Four low level beach chairs and several other folding camping chairs

Two beach umbrellas, two windbreaks & mallet, and a beach tent!

A picnic rucksack (for 4), two cooler bags (one on wheels), 2 large flasks, and a selection of ice blocks.
